French brocante market in Provence

Our Story

A Love of Old Things in Beautiful Places

Champ En Provence was born from two passions — the thrill of the brocante and a deep affection for the Luberon.

How It Began

Discovering La Maison Bleue

One weekend in Provence was all it took for us to feel drawn to the Luberon. After returning time and again, we finally decided to find a family home of our own, which brought us straight to La Maison Bleue in the hills above Apt. Beyond the house itself, we were captivated by life here: the bustling morning markets of Apt and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, antique tables filled with faded linens and tarnished silver, and the feeling that every object carried a narrative of its own.

We began bringing pieces home — a carved oak side table, a pair of brass candlesticks, a framed oil painting. Friends asked where we'd found them. And so Champ En Provence began.

How We Source

Two Countries, One Eye

Every piece in the shop has been chosen by hand. We source from two worlds:

French brocante market

French Brocantes

The outdoor markets of Provence — Apt, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Lourmarin, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence — and the great fairs of the Vaucluse and Var. We visit several times a year, arriving early, staying late, and carrying home whatever speaks to us.

English antique fair

English Antique Fairs

The great fairs of the English countryside — Newark, Ardingly, Sunbury, Henley-on-Thames — where Georgian furniture, Victorian silverware, and English country house pieces find new homes. We are based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, and know these fairs well.

We look for patina, provenance, and quiet beauty. We avoid the showy and the restored. We love the worn, the faded, and the genuinely old.

What We Stand For

Our Commitments

Authenticity

Every item is individually chosen for its unique story, time-worn patina, and traditional craftsmanship. We look for pieces that carry real history and charm.

Provenance

We note where each piece came from and, where known, its history. Objects with stories deserve to keep them.

Condition honesty

We describe condition truthfully. Patina is celebrated; damage is disclosed. You will never be surprised.

UK delivery

We ship carefully within the UK, using specialist couriers for fragile and large pieces. Packaging is always appropriate to the object.
